Event Details

Are you an educator who wants to integrate creative media arts into your classrooms?

Teachers, after-school providers, librarians—anyone who works with youth—explore the language of visual arts and project design to engage students in core content standards as well as VAPA and NCA standards. Build students’ STEAM skill sets, communication, collaboration, and self-expression.

Our two-hour participatory workshops introduce you to digital media arts, Visual Thinking Strategies, and the methods and strategies to integrate media arts into your core subject lesson plans.

Leave the workshop with a ready media arts project aligned to the workshop’s core theme, integrated with digital photography.

Note: You can attend one or all four workshops! Register for each separately.

Workshop #2: Artifacts of Us

How can personal artifacts tell our stories?

Explore the significance of artifacts telling the stories of humanity’s past and how personal artifacts help connect us to our loved ones, traditions, and histories. Learn about the concepts and techniques of still life photography to document artifacts, pairing student photographs with museum-style labels and captions.
